Our Principal & Vice Chancellor

Professor Dame Joan Stringer DBE was appointed Principal and Vice Chancellor of Edinburgh Napier University in January 2003. Since then she has led the development and implementation of the University’s plans, policies and strategies which have enhanced the profile and reputation of the University both at home and overseas. The success she has achieved is reflected in the size and shape of the University today. Indeed, over a third of our students are from outside the UK making us a truly international university as well as one which is tightly connected to its communities in Fife, the Lothians and elsewhere in Scotland.

Our Chancellor

Tim Waterstone, the founder of Waterstone’s Booksellers and former Chairman of HMV Media Group, was inaugurated as Chancellor of Edinburgh Napier University in November 2007. 

Our Vice Principals

The Principal is supported in her duties by three Vice Principals who in turn have responsibilities for strategy, resources and external relations, and the academic agenda.
