Title
BRP cards to be replaced by e-visas – action for visa holders

Description
UK Visas and Immigration are developing a digital immigration system. By the end of 2024, Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) cards will be replaced with electronic visas.

If you have a BRP expiring on 31 December 2024, you must create a UKVI account and set up your eVisa access. Please see www.gov.uk/evisa for more information.

Once you have set up your eVisa, you must keep your passport details up to date in your UKVI account, as the visa will be linked to your passport. It is also advisable to continue carrying your BRP with you when travelling overseas until the end of 2024, and to retain the card after expiry for your records.
