The results of the National Student Survey (NSS) for 2016 are now in.
In this latest NSS, Edinburgh Napier scored 84% for the key question “Overall I am satisfied with the quality of the course”. This is the same result we received in 2015, while the sector average has remained at 86%.
Key points:
- Results are available at both at University and at individual school level.
- When considering all of the 23 factors measured in the NSS, Edinburgh Napier has experienced improved, or consistent, scores in the majority of factors when compared with results achieved in 2015.
- When compared with results from the 2015 NSS, half of the individual Schools have experienced increased scores or consistent scores for Q22.
- Overall satisfaction in HEIs across the UK in 2016 stands at 86%, this is consistent with Scottish institutions which also stands at 86%.
- Edinburgh Napier is ranked 12th out of the 17 HEIs in Scotland which participated in 2016 (compared with 13th out of 17 in 2015).
- Overall in the UK Edinburgh Napier is ranked 89th= out of the 141 HEIs which participated in the survey in 2016 (compared with 95th out of 142 in 2015).
- In 2016 Edinburgh Napier had seven subject areas which were within the top quartile of all HEIs in the UK offering those subjects. The subjects were Accounting, Building, Computer Science, English Studies, Law, Music and Psychology.
- When considering individual question areas, Edinburgh Napier was within the top quartile of all UK HEIs for three individual questions in 2016. These questions all related to the learning resources available to our students.
