Course Overview

This session will equip and upskill leaders and managers for review season and beyond, enabling them to hold powerful development conversations that fuel positive learning & growth, and challenge us around our expectations for the year ahead.

Who should attend?

People managers at every level

By the end of this session you will:

• Understand the power of and know how to set clear expectations
• Be able to positively challenge and encourage your team to think about their ‘real development needs’
• Understand different sources of development and how to apply that thinking to a realistic learning plan
• Be aware of different types of development and how to help your team think about what’s helping them and what’s holding them back
• Have a clearer grasp on the difference between the ‘what’ and the ‘how’ and how you can support your team to deliver against both
• Gain a process to support ‘chunking down’ annual goals (or longer) to get a clear sense of how things will shift over the shorter term


Participants will have the opportunity to:

• Learn best practice approaches to opening up development conversations and guiding team members through positive reflective conversations.
• Share learning, understanding and experience with their peers.
