Topics were varied, including ‘Research and the literature review’, ‘Finding UK funding and applying to research funders’, ‘Writing for publication’, ‘Altmetrics and social media’ to hands-on practical workshops in ‘Using the research Repository’ and ‘Keeping up to date with research’. “Very informative speakers” (Attendee feedback)

Wednesday afternoon’s Panel Discussion on Impact proved very interesting with researchers at key stages in their careers describing how they got to where they are now. Don’t give up and keep networking were key pieces of advice given by Panel members.

Opportunities for networking were provided. The Research Lunch and Showcase on Thursday included stands promoting the services and resources available to support researchers at the University eg. Careers, Library, IT, Public Engagement, Enterprise Campus, Research Professional and Write Now.

“The 'buzz' of academics and research students interacting; a very dynamic encounter” (Attendee feedback)

Leap into research finished with a relaxed, social event on Friday afternoon, Meet the Researchers. Alistair Sambell, Vice Principal and Deputy Vice Chancellor, gave the closing speech.
