Information Services (IS) are committed to the delivery of University projects; to enhance the student experience, deliver improvements for academic and professional services staff and enable us to meet the strategic goals of the University. 


 

Supported by the Project Management Office (PMO) over the last 6 months we are delighted to have delivered and closed 21 projects for departments across the University. Collaboration and contribution from all teams across Information Services have helped achieve this.

The project was formed to pick up planned developments and improvements from the initial card production project

New online process to support business change for centralising the IT budget.

Implementation of an improved communications tool called Poppulo.

Procure and implement an application that will allow SHSC students to be better informed about upcoming placements.

Workplace by Facebook

Streamline and simplify the use of WP by FB by enabling single sign on (SSO), preventing system emails going to spam and ensuring all staff are could access WP by FB from their desktops.

·         More secure, robust system and the addition of staff members is automated complying with GDPR and reducing risk.

TLS Standardisation Project

A new TLS standard has been designed which prioritises modern protocols and cipher suites whilst disabling those which are older and insecure.

·       University is now more protected from cyber-attacks exploiting vulnerabilities in outdated and insecure TLS standards.
