To maintain the security and resilience of the University's systems and services, Information Services will be replacing the Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS) at Craiglockhart on Saturday 12 October.
The replacement of the UPS will involve shutting down all servers at Craiglockhart in a systematic and ordered way to ensure minimal impact to service. The timings of this work have been agreed with SLT and key stakeholders to avoid key events in the University calendar and minimise disruption.
Craiglockhart Campus Closure
Craiglockhart campus will be closed to students on Saturday 12 October as all networked and wireless services will be unavailable on the day. The campus will remain open to staff, however Craiglockhart library will be closed all day.
Service Availability
Some key University systems and services will be unavailable from 6pm on Friday 11 October until 2.30pm on Saturday 12 October, others will be unavailable from 7am on Saturday 12 October.
Due to the extensive nature of the work please consider all services “at risk" and therefore may not be available from 6pm on Friday 11 October until 12 noon on Monday 14 October.

- Remote access to Agresso
- Remote access to SITS
Services unavailable from 7am on Saturday 12 October until 2.30pm on Saturday 12 October include but are not limited to:
- Agresso
- AppsAnywhere
- HR Connect
- Moodle
- Staff intranet
- Student H drives (personal data areas)
- Syllabus Plus (timetabling)
- Some network licensed applications, for example Matlab and DesignBuilder
- All networked services at Craiglockhart
- All wireless services at Craiglockhart
Shutdown of Update Processes
In order to maintain data and system integrity we will be shutting down some update processes over the weekend:
- There will be no student or staff accounts generated over the weekend.
- There will be no student invoices processed via Haycentric over the weekend.
These processes will be reinstated and brought up to date on Monday 14 October.
