International Sales Exchange

The 1st International Sales Exchange (ISE) between Edinburgh Napier University Business School and Windesheim University, Zwolle, The Netherlands took place between Thursday 28th and Friday 29th November. Six students from Windesheim together with their Professor, Harry Donker, joined eight Business School students and Dr Tony Douglas  and Deborah Callister (Business School Employer Liaison Officer). The event incorporated interactive sales workshops (from Confident Futures and Careers) together with a number of guest lectures from business people passionate about promoting the ‘sales’ agenda and the importance of selling skills and knowledge in careers development.

ISE 2013 was joined by Paul Owen from Sales Talent Spotters, Lena Bauchop and Sharon Homan from Careers, Rhiannon Spencer-Jones from IBM, Mo Andrew and Isla McCrone from Confident Futures. The event culminated in a Dinner at the Carlton Hotel in Edinburgh at which Gillian McNeilly of Puma Hotels Group, the main sponsor of the Event, and Kenny Miller, a former  Business School graduate from Edinburgh Napier University now working for Victaulic delivered speeches extolling the virtues of a career in sales and congratulating the students who participated in the ISE for their hard work and commitment.

The second leg of the exchange will be held in March 2014 where staff and students will travel to Windesheim Univesity. We acknowledge financial support from the Business School, Scottish Funding Council Graduate Employability Project and the Dame Joan Stringer International Student Travel Fund.
