Stress Control is a free six week, cognitive behavioural therapy based self-help course offered by NHS Lothian. It is aimed primarily at people experiencing difficulties in managing stress, also referred to as anxiety or mixed anxiety and depression.
The course consists of six 1½ hour lecture format presentations and aims to provide attendees with the practical skills they need to understand the psychological aspects of stress and learn how to cope better with stress in their lives.
There are six classes, each week focusing on a different aspect of stress and how it affects people. This is not a therapy group – instead material is taught using lecture-style presentations. Class members will not be required to ask questions or share personal information during sessions.
You don’t have to be stressed to benefit – the course can help you to avoid stress from building up in future.
When: Tuesday 17 September to Tuesday 22 October, 6.30pm - 8.00pm
Where: Edinburgh University, Lecture theatre B, David Hume Tower, George Square EH8 9JX
