The latest Sighthill Inclusive Lunchtime Gathering takes place on Thursday,
13 February from 12pm to 2pm, in room 5.B.16 at our Sighthill campus.
Come along and celebrate the diversity of the university’s students and staff
in a welcoming, inclusive environment. All identities, abilities,
lived-experiences, and cultures are welcome. You will not be made to out
yourself or prove how diverse you are – you are welcome for who you are.
All colleagues are welcome, wherever you work in the University, as are
students from all programmes on all campuses. Just send an email to Adam Satur to confirm your interest, so we can keep track of numbers.
February is a busy month of interesting occasions, with World Hijab Day, International
Day of Women and Girls in Science, Random Acts of Kindness day and
International Mother Language Day. February is also LGBT+ History Month and
week commencing 3 February is Children’s Mental Health Week.
Bring your own lunch and, if you’re looking for a conversation starter, highlight
an LGBT+ person who you think needs greater appreciation and what you want to
share about them. You could find out something about a lesser known woman in
science who you would like to draw attention to.
If you speak another language, you could teach us a phrase which you like
from that language, or tell us about something which you think is a good tip
for children’s mental health.
