What was discussed at the latest Sighthill Campus Improvement Group meeting?

The following bullet points provide a note of the main issues discussed at the meeting of the Sighthill Campus Improvement Group meeting held on Tuesday, 3 September.
  • ‘Accessibility’ will be added as a standing item to future agendas for the Sighthill Campus Improvement Group to ensure we reflect on this on a regular basis


  • Discussion held in relation to planning for any increases in student numbers and how other services are able to accommodate/respond to this


  • Smoking shelter at rear of campus – consideration to be given to making some improvements to this shelter given there is no alternative site


  • Property & Facilities investigating alternatives to water fountains within libraries following some leaks/damage to books


  • Red cords in toilets – just to raise awareness with users not to tie these cords around poles.  H&S will consider additional signage


  • Catering – concern voiced over increasing prices vs quality of provision.  A communication will be issued by P&F


  • Car parking – concern expressed regarding arrangements for week one.  A communication will be issued by P&F


  • Teacher Education – the new staff office/hub is in room 2B48.  45 students commenced this programme in August 2019


  • Consideration to be given to increasing the number of plants and benches at Sighthill Campus


  • The Group will collate information relating to Community Engagement at Sighthill Campus
