Join
an online community of co-learners this summer and learn to play the ukulele –
no prior music experience or ukulele necessary!
You’ll
have access to an online Moodle site which will provide you with materials for
learning to play.
We
even have a limited number of new ukuleles available to borrow while the
campuses remain closed.
In
return we ask that you:
- Look
after the instrument and return it to us when the campuses have reopened
- Answer
some questions afterwards about how you found being part of the project
- Consider
sharing photos or videos of yourself learning the ukulele at home
The
purchase of the ukuleles was funded by the Teaching Fellows’ small project
grant, awarded in February 2020, and forms part of a larger project which
explores the effect of being a novice learner on academic development of
learning and teaching. The ukuleles will be a resource available for academic
and staff development after the campuses have fully reopened.
Want
to take part? Let us know by emailing dlte@napier.ac.uk and we'll enrol you
on the Moodle community site so you can join us.
If
you’d like to borrow one of our ukuleles, click here to register your
interest by Friday 5 June – those who will receive a ukulele will be picked at
random. Before completing this form please read the privacy policy for Starland
Music here.
If
you have questions about any of the above, or would like more information, email
dlte@napier.ac.uk.
