The University’s fifth annual Above & Beyond Awards took place online last week, as we recognised individuals and teams from across the University for their contributions over the last 12 months.

The ceremony saw winners announced across twelve categories, handpicked by an independent panel from the record 292 nominations we received.

The live ceremony was hosted by Geoff Day, Interim Director, People & Services, and our University Leadership Team revealed the winners in each category:

 

  • Pride of Edinburgh Napier Award (Individual)Emma Trotter, Lecturer, School of Health & Social Care

  • Pride of Edinburgh Napier Award (Team)The Student Accommodation Team, Property & Facilities

  • Innovative Award – The Technical Team, School of Applied Sciences

  • Inclusive Award – Miriam Hussain and Cecilia Fisher, Marketing & External Relations

  • Leadership Excellence Award – Emma Trotter, Lecturer, School of Health & Social Care

  • Enterprise Award – Ruth Cochrane, Lecturer, School of Arts & Creative Industries

  • Student Experience Award – The Student Accommodation Team, Property & Facilities

  • Ambitious Award – Fiona Mason, Head of Business Engagement & IP Commercialisation, RIE

  • Professional Award – The Cleaning Team, Property & Facilities
 
  • Partnership Award – Dawn Smith, Public Engagement Manager, RIE
 
  • Research & Innovation AwardLuca Mora, Lecturer, The Business School
 
  • Learning & Teaching Award – The Digital Support Partnership Team

 

We also recognised staff who are celebrating special service anniversaries and colleagues who achieved HEA fellowship over the past 12 months.

Despite being held online due to the current circumstances, it was a night to remember for our winners!
