Full Story

Edinburgh Napier University (ENU) has become the first higher education institution to agree a partnership with Black Professionals Scotland (BPS), in a joint effort to create a more inclusive and representative university.

Founded in 2016, BPS aims to empower Scotland-based black and ethnic minority professionals with skills and support to help grow their career.

The organisation also offers support to employers by providing access to their talent pool and consultancy services.

ENU joins existing BPS partners which include a range of major organisations, from the public sector to financial services.

Securing membership with the group forms part of ENU's commitment to inclusivity – offering a sense of support, belonging and respect to everyone associated with the University, without restriction or discrimination.

Carolann Begbie, Director of People and Student Services at Edinburgh Napier University said: “We're excited to be partnering with Black Professionals Scotland, and pride ourselves in being the first higher education institution in Scotland to do so.

“This partnership is an initiative to foster our commitment further to being inclusive, by welcoming black professionals to join the ENU community."

Enoch Adeyemi, Founder of Black Professionals Scotland said: “In unity, we amplify opportunities and create lasting impact.

“This collaboration is a powerful stride toward a more diverse and inclusive future, where education becomes a beacon of empowerment for every individual in our community.

“Together, we are committed to fostering meaningful change and building a more inclusive society."
