Full Story

Congratulations to our colleagues and teams who were recognised for their outstanding achievements at our 2024 Colleague Recognition Awards.

On Friday 7 June, colleagues from across the University came together for our all-colleague event, Pride of Napier: A Carnival of Recognition and Appreciation, featuring our Colleague Recognition Awards. The event saw nine awards presented to those who made an outstanding contribution throughout the last year, and our new Pride of Napier Award which celebrates a significant, collaborative piece of work.

This year, over 240 nominations  were received with colleagues eager to share the success and inspirational stories of their peers. The high-quality nominations showed the impact being made, not only across the University, but much further afield.  And, for the first time, colleagues considered the nomination information and voted for their winners from the shortlist in each of the award categories!

So, without further ado, here are your 2024 Colleague Recognition Award winners!

A massive well done to all the nominees and winners who demonstrated such a commitment to excellence and an unwavering dedication to their work.

Thank you to everyone who submitted a nomination, for sharing their inspiring stories and highlighting the great work of their peers, and of course to our judging panel members!

This year the Colleague Recognition Award trophies were designed by Laura Georgie Baird, a second year Product Design student and produced by Midton Acrylics. The design features two diamond-like parts that can be detached from the base of the trophy. The concept of the award is that winners are encouraged to give one part to someone who has influenced or inspired them in their career to date.

The production of this year's event was managed by a team of our own School of Arts & Creative Industries BA Film students, supported by Derek Livesey. We also enjoyed a performance from fourth year BA Music student, Calum Anderson.
