Our Mental Health Awareness & Building Resilience for Managers interactive full day course helps managers to develop their understanding of mental health, normalise it and build their confidence in dealing with different individual needs.
Using group work, you’ll explore the main causes of stress and distress in the workplace. The course highlights the importance of having the conversation, increase confidence and explore what to ask and what not to ask.
Who should attend?
Any staff member who is either directly or indirectly responsible for the development of others. This includes staff members who are responsible to manage performance or staff members who manage a team project.
Specific learning outcomes include:
Explore the concept of mental health
Identify warning signs of mental illness and actions to take
Facilitate confident conversations about mental health
Consolidate learning through case study and scenarios
Summarise the value of support services
Participants will have the opportunity to:
Discuss workplace attitudes and barriers to mental health
Identify challenges when dealing with mental health at work
Examine their own practice when dealing with Mental Health and wellbeing
Devise strategies that will inform their practice
Speak freely and learning in a supporting environment
