Interruption to online video server – and Camtasia Relay to be withdrawn

The online video server will be upgraded to version 6 on Wednesday 11 December and users may experience an interruption to the service during the afternoon.
The server’s existing structure, user permissions and Moodle integrations will remain unchanged. Version 6 provides a number of new features and enhancements including improved editing capabilities and user engagement analytics. Further details of version 6 features can be found on the Medial Library website.
Camtasia Relay to be withdrawn
This upgrade also includes the screen capture tool MediaLecture, which is designed for desktop recordings that automatically upload to the online video server. Camtasia Relay’s parent company, TechSmith, no longer provide UK support and so our licence will not be renewed. Therefore Camtasia Relay will be withdrawn in the new year and replaced by MediaLecture, so look out for further details on how to access this screen capture tool.
