Following the outcome of the 2022-23 national pay negotiations, UNISON have formally notified the University that they have conducted a ballot of their members and have achieved the minimum required return of votes, which consist of those who voted in favour of industrial action and those who voted against it; from this UNISON have advised that they achieved the required number of votes in favour of industrial action.
While we fully respect the right of colleagues to take industrial action and we accept that such action is not taken lightly, we are concerned at the potential impact this may have on our students. It is our intention to continue meaningful dialogue with our trade union partners over the coming weeks and as soon as we have been notified of the dates of any strike action, a further update will be provided.
