Event Description:
This session will last two hours with the last half hour being a Q & A session
Your training will be delivered by one of our experienced and knowledgeable training consultants and includes interactive activities and/or discussions.
Understanding autism:
This course will introduce you to the autism spectrum. Emphasis is given on how our understanding of autism has evolved and how more current approaches inform our understanding and practices. Recognising and understanding the key areas of difference experienced by autistic individuals is vital to providing effective support.
Target audience:
This course is suitable for anyone wanting to increase their understanding of autism and strategies to support individuals. It is relevant for those who support autistic adults and young people
Learning Outcomes:
• Discuss current thinking about autism
• Explain the differences experienced by autistic people
• Recognise potential causes of anxiety for autistic people
• Identify and implement basic strategies of support
