  • We provide expert advice and guidance, produce insightful strategic analysis, research and commentary; and help to optimise the University's profile and reputation. 
  • We deliver information, business intelligence and analysis to enhance the University's approach to strategic and annual planning through evidence-based decision-making. We aim to provide a clear, concise and influential voice, underpinned by robust data and analytics, on areas of interest and strategic importance.  
  • We support Schools and Professional Service areas with their plans, to ensure the University’s Stra​tegy is delivered through cohesive business planning and carefully selected strategic performance measures.

Performance Monitoring

  • University and Academic Key Performance Indicators – a way of measuring and monitoring progress towards the University’s strategic objectives as articulated in the University Strategy 
  • Externally published performance Indicators –provide comparative data on the performance of Higher Education providers in widening participation, student retention, learning and teaching outcomes, research output and graduate employment
  • League table reporting and analysis – online tools that are valued and used by students in making their university choice, pivotal to optimising the University's profile and reputation

Statutory Returns

  • SFC data returns (Early Statistic and Early Access Return, Student Number Return and TRAC) 
  • Coordination of HESA Returns (Estates Management Record, HE-BCI, Provider Profile, Staff and Finance Returns)
  • Support NES Indexing process for NHS Education for Scotland 
  • Upskilling and NTTF Returns
  • Outcome Agreement
