Matriculation Project

In 2014 the university matriculation process was reviewed by a university wide project team. Significant changes were made to the process for new and returning students and there were real gains in terms of the student experience. We are grateful for the support and efforts of all those involved in the implementation and delivery of the new process.

The project is now moving into phase 2, and the project board and three workstreams are focussed on making further improvements to the process for both students and the staff involved taking into account feedback and empirical evidence collected during both the September and January intakes. The focus of the three groups is as follows:

  • Finance
  • Information Services & Systems
  • Student Support & Communications

The main aims and objectives of the project in phase 2 are as follows:

  • Improve student communications ensuring a personalised student experience with appropriate and timely information
  • Enhance communications to university staff to increase familiarity with the matriculation process
  • Improve student access to information on myNapier with increased ability to self-serve and reducing the need to seek help from support desks (e.g. IS, Student Administration and Finance)
  • Provide enhanced support to students throughout the online matriculation process and also on campus at the face to face checks
  • Increase student engagement with password manager and Information Services inductions
  • Ensure revised processes support the needs of all types of students (e.g. Distance Learning, International etc.)
