​Research Funding Initiatives 2014/15

In the academic year 2014/15 there will be a strategic initiative fund, the Research Translation Innovation Fund (RTIF). This will be distributed by the VP (Academic) using a competitive and reward-based process to target specific strategic research initiatives which respond to the Univeristy's vision and mission as most recently expressed in the Strategic 2020 plan. Outlined below are the competitions currently being rolled out:

Research Funding Competition - Early Career Researchers 2014/15

This scheme will solely be for Early Career Researchers and will be pump priming initiatives. These will be one-off, time-limited projects and could include travel and subsistence and buy out/in time. Funding of up to £6-7K maximum will be available with applications for smaller amounts also being considered.

Timeline

October 2014 - Competition opens for applications

24th November - deadline for announcing awards

January - June - Award holders prepare and deliver their initiatives

15th July 2015 - Deadline for completing initiatives (to allow for any payments to be paid by 31st July).

Applications are now being accepted and the deadline is Monday 24th November 2014.
