University Mobile Device Security

As part of our continual efforts to improve information security, the University has implemented a new security policy for staff members who have a University managed mobile device.

This new policy, identical to the managed laptop service security policy protects both apps and browsing on the mobile device.  It uses the Web Filter to block harmful content.

The policy runs via a Cisco app, which has been automatically installed on your University owned mobile device.

Apple iOS users - This change requires no input or action from you.  You will be able to view the new “Cisco Security Connector” app on your device.

Android users - You must open the new Cisco Secure Client” (AnyConnect) app to ensure it is connecting to the Umbrella server and that your device continues to work normally - instructions are below. This is a one-time action required to protect your University device.

If you are unable to see the app please contact the IS Service Desk.
