WebCT replacement project

WebCT ceases to be supported by the parent company (Blackboard Inc.) and after reviewing the available options the University has selected Moodle as the replacement. The Moodle service will go live with modules running trimester 3, and all modules with use Moodle from session 2012-13.

WebCT is the current online learning environment used at Edinburgh Napier University for supporting learning, teaching and assessment. WebCT integrates a number of features including access to electronic documents, communication tools and assessment tools.

Staff are encouraged to use the WebCT Staff Help pages as their route into WebCT. These pages are packed with training and support resources, a comprehensive set of FAQs, contact information, top tips and news items which are updated regularly.

Students access WebCT through the student portal, and a direct link is available from the WebCT Student Help pages. These are packed full of advice on how to get the most out of WebCT from the user perspective, including sections on getting started, how to use WebCT tools, a comprehensive FAQ section, and handy contact information.
