Expanded 12 Principles for Online Learning and Teaching: Principle 3 Review Your Curriculum

Principle 03 Review Your Curriculum

Start with your module or programme descriptors. What online materials and support would enable students to meet the learning outcomes?

Working backwards from the learning outcomes, think about how to scaffold students’ learning towards meeting them. Before deciding on tools, consider what evidence you would expect from students and what formats would be appropriate. Is there an opportunity for student choice?

Consult the module descriptor and consider what alternative online methods would enable students to achieve the learning outcomes. If the learning outcomes cannot be assessed via online methods, please refer to Managing Change Approvals 2020/21 provided by Quality & Enhancement.
