Armistice Concert 2019
The Armistice concert took place in the Lindsay Stewart lecture theatre on Sunday 11th November and members of Information Services' Audio Visual & Learning Spaces (AV&LS) team worked with the Development & Alumni Relations team, and staff and students from SACI, to assist in delivering this showpiece event.
AV&LS participated in the set up and configuration of audio and video equipment for both the in-house room system and for live streaming to the University’s YouTube channel, and to the music studios at Merchiston where musicians played along with some of the recital pieces; this in turn was rebroadcasted to other musicians playing live in Berlin, Belgium, and to New York where it formed part of the NowNet Arts Conference focussing on social purpose in Networked Performance.
We used some innovative technologies such as Dante and NDI to route audio and video across the University network to give full flexibility and delivery the necessary content where required easily and with minimal latency.
The event was a great success and it was fantastic to see students and both academic and professional services staff working alongside each other seamlessly.
