John’s main involvement for the Department is as a reviewer and facilitator for ENroute and in the PgCert Teaching & Supporting Learning assessments. His main academic concern nowadays is with the formative development of core skills, the promotion of reflective practice, and self-assessment​. He is also an active reviewer for a number of educational journals. He welcomes any requests for assistance in shaping programmes to develop core abilities, and in preparing papers for publication.
