I manage the Quality & Standards Team in the Department for Learning & Teaching Enhancement and lead on matters relating to quality assurance and enhancement of taught and credit-bearing provision in the University.

I have been providing professional support and guidance on matters relating to academic quality since 2009. Prior to that, I worked at the School of Education at Durham University where I provided professional support to the School’s postgraduate provision and research office. I represent the University on Scotland’s Teaching Quality Forum (TQF) and am an experienced QAA ELIR Reviewer. 

I am committed to my own professional development and that of others. I am particularly interested in the area of reflective practice (a topic I have presented on at national conferences) as I believe that effective reflective practice is essential in driving enhancement. I am Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and I am a member of the editorial advisory board for Perspectives: Policy and Practice in Higher Education.
