I joined DLTE in June 2023 as a Lecturer in Assessment and
Feedback. Prior to this, I held a variety of teaching and research posts in
Spain, Saudi Arabia, China, the USA and the UK. I have a varied academic
background with an undergraduate degree in Accounting and Business Law as well
as a M.Sc in Applied Linguistics and TESOL, from the University of Stirling,
and a professional doctorate (E.dD) in Education from the University of Exeter.
This academic background has allowed me to develop knowledge and expertise in
developing assessment and curricula which appreciate both disciplinary
knowledge and disciplinary discourses.
I have a strong background in teaching and researching
academic writing and how this is assessed in higher education contexts. In this
respect, my work has been published at Cambridge University Press, Palgrave
Macmillan, Springer and Routledge. I have also contributed widely to a number
of international journals and currently act as a Co-I and consultant for a
number of writing pedagogy/assessment projects internationally and here in the
UK. Further details of my work can be found at https://leemccallum.net
