We were pleased to see an increase in the number of students attending our Summer Schools, particularly on the Russian Summer School that registered twice as many students as last year. Graham Birse, the Director of the EI, was invited as one of the guest speakers on this programme and he gave the students a very interesting presentation on ‘Business Management’. There is also a new Chinese High School Summer Camp coming to visit us in August to learn about our University and studying in the UK. 

The number of the Pre-Sessional students joining the EFL programmes totalled 200, which is similar to last year. We made a number of changes to our programmes in response to new Home Office visa regulations and these seem to have effectively minimised the impact on student numbers that is being seen in other institutions throughout the UK. Currently we have students on our 12 Week and 9 Week Pre-Sessional programmes on campus, with the 6 Week and 4 Week programmes starting in a few weeks.
