National CIPD Prize
Laura Strachan, one of the finalists of the HR Network Award has also won the much coveted CIPD Management Research Report Prize for the best (practice-based) research report investigating a ‘live’ HR issue. Laura comments ‘I thoroughly enjoyed researching this project, and could not have done it without the help and support of all the lecturers involved throughout the course, in particular my supervisor, Lesley McLean. The project gave me the opportunity to explore both the theoretical underpinnings and practical realities of having a successful Employer Branding strategy, and in making practical recommendations which will assist the organisation to strengthen its employer brand.
Julie Beardwell, CIPD Chief Moderator, on presenting Laura with her prize remarked: “This is an excellent piece of work, well-researched and persuasively written. This dissertation adopts an innovative approach by considering the relationship between two concepts that are of strategic interest to organisations”.
