Community Engagement and Edinburgh Partnership
Dr John Thomson from the School of Marketing, Tourism and Languages and voluntary Chairman of the South Edinburgh Amenities Group (SEAG) attended a handover ceremony at Edinburgh Castle of a new minibus to the charity.
SEAG provides customised transport as part of the city’s commitment to wider access and community engagement for the elderly and those with disabilities. The charity has been operating for more than ten years and was delighted to be awarded £23,000 from the Ministry of Defence’s Community Engagement Fund towards the cost of a new vehicle.
Dr Thomson is seen accepting the keys from Colonel Phil Bates (Commander of Edinburgh Garrison) and Councillor Andrew Burns (Deputy Leader of Edinburgh City Council) on the esplanade of Edinburgh Castle.
