Peter Vardy Graduation

On Thursday 13th December, the first group of students from the Peter Vardy Training Academy were awarded with their ‘Executive Certificate in Professional Sales’. The new initiative is designed to deliver world class customer experience training to the Peter Vardy team of 500 people in its seven dealerships across Scotland. Edinburgh Napier University is the Academy’s partner, providing endorsement for the initial programme for an Executive Certificate in Professional Selling. The Edinburgh Napier link will also enable Peter Vardy colleagues to move onto under-graduate level programmes with the university.
Huw Roberts, Group HR Director at Peter Vardy Limited said: “I am delighted that our high standards have brought us together with Edinburgh Napier University whose involvement enables colleagues to progress to graduate level qualifications. Customers want to speak to human beings who take the time understand their needs – this is the key focus of our approach, as well as providing the technical skills our colleagues need to be the best in the industry.”

Professor George Stonehouse, Dean of The Business School at Edinburgh Napier said: “There is little doubt that, in recent years, selling is one of the skills that has been under significant scrutiny within the Scottish business community. It is why we launched our own sales division with the Business School last year and why we are so pleased to now bring that expertise to bear on our partnership with Peter Vardy.: “Professional sales skills play an essential role in making a business profitable – they are the lifeblood of any successful company, and it is initiatives like this new training academy that will help Scotland to emerge stronger from the uncertainty of the current economic climate.”
