Tourism in Scotland Summer School
The newest addition to the short courses is our Tourism in Scotland Summer School for Italian students—in August, we welcomed 15 students and 5 members of staff from the University of Calabria, Italy. The programme was jointly taught by Kenneth Wardrop and Rory MacLellan, who delivered lectures focusing on Scottish tourism, heritage and markets, and took the group to study trips in the city centre of Edinburgh and the Scottish borders. These trips promoted engagement with and analysis of core ideas and strategies that were discussed in class as they were applied in real-life markets and situations. We are proud to say that the Tourism in Scotland Summer School very well received as both students and staff found it an informative and engaging experience. We are hoping that this is the start of a long-term collaboration with University of Calabria, and we are looking forward to welcoming more European students to Edinburgh Napier University next year.
