International Education and Cultural Programme
In May a two weeks bespoke international and cultural programme was led by Dr John R Thomson (Marketing) and delivered by the Business School in collaboration with the Edinburgh Institute of Management Practice and tutors from across the Faculty.
Twenty three part-time professional undergraduate and postgraduate business and management students from MCI Management Centre, Innsbruck, Austria, chose to undertake their exchange programme at Edinburgh Napier University. The programme content included aspects of culture, marketing and branding, finance, operations, strategy and law. Students undertook a short study and delivered group presentations on an original case study which formed part of their assessment on the programme.
As part of the exchange programme, the students visited the Scottish Parliament, The Whisky Experience, Nairns Oatcakes and Tayburn (Design and Branding) Agency. Guest Speakers included John Clifford (Honorary Consul of Austria), Professor Charles Edwards (Director of the EI), Dr Nicholas Ind (Visiting Professor of Marketing) and Sir Tom Farmer (Entrepreneur and Deputy Lieutenant of Edinburgh).
A Programme Dinner was held at the Craighouse Campus which included a Scottish Menu and a Piper. Professor George Stonehouse was the Guest Speaker at the dinner. On the final day, the students were presented with their Completion Certificates by Professor Charles Edwards.
