Academic Workload Framework 2016 (AWF 2016)
AWF 2016 was developed in partnership with the recognised academic Trade Union, EIS. It is intended to provide a fair and flexible basis for the allocation of academic work including teaching, research, commercial and support activities.
AWF sets out allowances for core activities which are standard across the University. In addition, Schools can agree local allowances for activities which are specific to them.
The AWF Steering Group has oversight of the framework and is a forum for ensuring consistency in application of the framework and sharing good practice across Schools. Deans of School are accountable for the local operation of the framework.
