National Inclusion Week 2019

 

National Inclusion Week was created by Inclusive Employers to raise awareness of diversity and inclusion in the workplace. Edinburgh Napier University is hosting a series of events and activities to celebrate the diversity amongst our staff and students.

 

Programme of Events

 

Monday 23 September

Andy's Man Club, Sighthill, 3.D.08, 12.30-13.30

Andy's Man Club is an organisation supporting men with mental health issues and offering them a safe place to discuss their emotions. This presentation is aimed at everyone and tells Andy's story and how Andy's Man Club​ started and has grown as an organisation. Alex and Adam will also talk about their own personal experiences of mental illness and suicide and why they are passionate about challenging the stigmas of mental health.

Tuesday 24 September

Human, Sighthill, 1.D.02, 12.30-13.30

Using testimonies from over 2000 people in 60 countries as well as aerial images, environmentalist filmmaker Yann Arthus-Bertrand confronts the realities and diversity of human conditions.​

Edinburgh Napier Queer Arts Collective (ENQAC) Launch, Merchiston, E14, 18.30-20.30

This is the first event of the new Edinburgh Napier Queer Arts Collective (ENQAC) celebrating LGBTQIA+ Pride, culture and intersectionality around the world. There will be trailers for some wonderful LGBT+ centred films from around the world, books of prose and poetry and you'll hear a little about the cultures. There will be time to chat and socialise too.

VOCAL (Voice of Carers across Lothians), Sighthill, 3.D.10, 13.00-15.00

An interactive session for managers on how to support your staff and colleagues with caring responsibilities.

Menopause and the workplace, Sighthill, Horizon Suite, 17.00-20.00

Open to all, this information event will cover support available to staff and help understand the potential impact of the work environment on menopausal symptoms. It's a great chance to socialise too!
