National Inclu​sion Week 2022






National Inclusion Week was created by Inclusive E​mployers​ to raise awareness of diversity and inclusion in the workplace. Edinburgh Napier University is taking part in National Inclusion Week to celebrate the diversity amongst our staff and students, and to promote and recognise all our staff networks​!


The theme this year is Time to Act: The Power of Now.

Monday 26 September 10.30 - 11.30 Carers Network - Coffee Catch up The Carers Network is organising a Coffee Morning. Gary Hutchison, our Senior Leadership Team sponsor, will be there to present the Network to current and new members of staff. Everyone welcome!

Monday 26 September 16.00 - 19.00 Connecting the LGBT+ Business Community in the UK and Beyond BRT are hosting an event in collaboration with OutBritain (the UK’s first LGBT+ Chamber of Commerce) to look at being a LGBT+ business or business owner, and how you can connect with other businesses and those looking for diverse suppliers across the globe. The event will consist of live speakers, recorded presentations, and some panel discussion/Q&A.

Tuesday 27 September 14.00 - 15.00 Webinar: "Small Steps; Big Impact" with DLTE There are small steps which teaching and support staff can make, which can have a big impact on the wellbeing, inclusion and the resulting academic success of our students in our programmes.
We will look at research carried out by our student intern, Aanuoluwapo Adefioye, which explores issues affecting social integration and academic performance of international postgraduate students, and strategies which DLTE and teaching staff can employ to support successful academic and personal integration.

Thursday 29 September 14.00 - 15.00 LGBT+ Network September Face-to-Face Coffee & Catch Up The network is organising their 3rd face to face coffee and catch up session, for Bi Visibility Day. All colleagues are welcome, regardless of whether they identify as bisexual/biromantic, LGBT+ or an ally.

Join us in the canteen at the Merchiston campus from 2pm, to meet up for a friendly chat.

Thursday 29 September 16.00 - 18.30 Women's Network - Social The vision of the Women’s Network is to create a forum to champion gender equality, promote the voice of women and influence meaningful change within the university environment. Join us for our first social event of the new academic year. It’s a great opportunity to meet the co-leads, Claire Taylor and Sonya MacVicar, as well as other members and colleagues. All welcome.

Event starts at 16.30 in LRC1 at Sighthill.
